Pumex (UK) Ltd also offers a newly available range of PCC (Precipitated Calcium Carbonate) GRB from Gruppo Baslini SpA, Northern Italy. This is an aragonitic Calcium Carbonate synthetically produced by the reaction of slaked slime Ca(OH)2 and Carbon Dioxide (CO2). By controlling the temperature and exposure levels the crystal morphology can be varied.

CaO + H2O à Ca (OH)2 (HYDRATION or SLAKING)
